Hayes McKenzie are based in offices near Salisbury, Wiltshire, and near Machynlleth, mid-Wales. We have been the leading UK acoustics consultancy for wind farm noise planning assessments since the first large-scale turbines were erected in the UK in 1991. We have also been actively expanding our work in other areas, particular since the change in UK on-shore wind policy slowed development in this area in 2015.
We are currently inviting applications to join our existing team as a Consultant working at our Salisbury office. Consultants are responsible for managing their own projects: liaising with clients, planning authorities and members of the public; managing equipment installations and logistics; data analysis; noise modelling; report writing; and advising clients on the options available to them.
Applicants should have a degree level or MSc qualification in an acoustics related subject and at least 3 years’ experience of consultancy work. They should be self-motivated, able to learn quickly and to work independently to deadlines. They will also need to be able to write fluent and intelligible reports, placing a high emphasis on accuracy and consistency.
We offer a competitive salary with yearly bonus and pension scheme; a friendly and flexible, non-corporate work environment; continuing professional development and an enormous sense of personal and professional satisfaction; and the opportunity to travel to windswept locations, mainly within the UK and the Irish Republic. There may also be opportunities for work overseas in continental Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
