We are currently recruiting for graduate and consultant grade acoustics consultants to join our team.

Role Description

This is a full-time role as an Acoustic Consultant at Hayes McKenzie. The successful applicant will be responsible for tasks related to environmental noise and vibration assessment. Consultants are responsible for managing their own projects: liaising with clients, local planning authorities and members of the public; managing equipment installations and logistics; data analysis; noise modelling; report writing; and advising clients on the options available to them.

Hayes McKenzie are based in offices near Salisbury, Wiltshire, and near Machynlleth, mid-Wales. We have been the leading UK acoustics consultancy for wind farm noise since the first large-scale turbines were erected in the UK in 1991. We also work in other areas of renewables such as battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar, as well as other areas of environmental noise and vibration consultancy such as aircraft noise, industrial noise and housing developments.

Our work offers the opportunity to travel to windswept locations, mainly within the UK and the Irish Republic.

Qualifications and requirements

Experience in environmental noise assessments is preferred

Proficiency in report writing with a high emphasis on accuracy and consistency

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and to work independently to deadlines

Membership in the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) is advantageous

Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, or related field

A full UK driving licence
