Robin Woodward has received the IEC 1906 Award from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) following nomination from the officers of the IEC TC 88 committee that oversaw the production in of IEC TS 61400-11-2, Wind energy generation systems - Part 11-2: Acoustic noise measurement techniques - Measurement of wind turbine sound characteristics in receptor position. IEC 16400-11-2 was published in March 2024.
The IEC 1906 Award was created by the IEC to commemorate the founding of the Commission, and to honour those who have made an exceptional recent technical contribution to the development of a specific IEC work project.
The certificate reads, 'In recognition for his extraordinary commitment and dedication in his search for overall consistency and getting the details right in the development of the IEC TS 61400-11-2. He has been the driving person on the sections on tonality and amplitude modulation and has also provided valuable input for the entire document'.
