With decades of experience carrying out sound power level testing on wind turbines, to various standards, we now provide accredited acoustic wind turbine noise testing to IEC 61400-11:2012+AMD1:2018, (BS EN 61400-11:2013+A1:2018 being the UK implementation), including Annex F for small turbines. We can also test and carry out wind turbine noise calculations to the superseded Edition 2.1 of the 61400-11 standard for warranty verification purposes, as well as other bespoke methodologies. In 2014 Sylvia Broneske (formally at Hayes McKenzie and the current UK Principal Expert on the IEC/TC 88 MT11 group advising on the standard) and Robin Woodward (also a member of the MT11 group) formed a specialised turbine testing team. We are constantly striving to improve our quality and services in this area.
We also carry out the necessary testing of other plant and equipment to the relevant standards as required. The extent of the noise impact of a given noise-producing development, or on noise in commercial or industrial premises, is dependent on the noise produced by each item of installed equipment. Testing of many items of such equipment is governed by British or International Standards, although some might require an innovative approach.
