Renewable Energy

As with all methods of energy generation, there may be noise issues arising for methods of renewable or sustainable energy generation. We have experience with:

• Offshore and Onshore Wind Turbines / Farms

Except where likely noise levels are very low, proposals are normally evaluated through a comparison of predicted noise levels with the background noise which would exist in the absence of the development and assessment criteria derived from this.

We carry out measurements of the baseline or background noise, derivation of applicable noise limits, noise predictions and an assessment of likely noise impact for submission as a stand-alone report or as part of Environmental Report or Environmental Impact Assessment.

In addition to new developments, we are also one of the only companies in the UK accredited for the acoustic testing of wind turbines.
