Despite it's age, this document provides the official methodology to be used for assessing noise level, or changes in noise levels, resulting from new or changed railway networks and the rail traffic which use them. It is specified for the 'ascertainment of level of noise' in the 1996 Noise Insulation (Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems) Regulations.
